At House of Henderson all of our kilts are entirely hand made from start to finish – not in a factory but by a skilled kiltmaker incorporating three generations of craft, quality and service. Our full outfit packages include a full 8 yard made to measure kilt made from either medium 13oz or heavy 16oz pure worsted wool. We also hold an extensive range of jackets and accessories including sporrans, shoes, belts and sgian dubhs to complement your perfect outfit.

KILT WEIGHTS
At House of Henderson we use a range of alternative cloth weights in our Mens, Ladies and Children’s kilts; hand made in Scotland from 100% worsted wool.
LIGHT WEIGHT – 11OZ
We would recommend this weight of cloth for lighter weight gents tartan trousers, ladies and children’s kilts, skirts and dancing kilts as well as a range of accessories including tartan sashes, shawls and neck ties.
MEDIUM WEIGHT – 13OZ
Medium weight cloth is most commonly used in our 8 yard kilts and is also suitable for slightly heavier gents tartan trousers.
HEAVY WEIGHT – 16OZ
This is one of the heaviest kilt weights available, holding a firm pleat, extremely durable and more suitable for kilts rather than trousers. Naturally warmer than a medium weight kilt, this should be considered if regularly wearing the kilt outdoors or in hotter climates.
